VC fundraising for online lending companies
Online lending fundraising is unusual because the equity round depends entirely on the debt stack behind it. Investors look at vintage performance, charge-off curves and the cost and tenor of warehouse and forward-flow facilities before they price equity, and a clean debt story has historically been worth more to valuation than any growth number. The current environment is disciplined; capital concentrates in operators with proven underwriting through the 2023-24 credit normalisation.
Equity capital comes from credit-fluent fintech specialists - Ribbit, QED, Bain Capital Ventures, Victory Park - alongside generalists with established lending books (Sequoia, a16z, Index). The corporate VCs of the large banks and consumer finance incumbents (JPM Strategic Investments, Citi Ventures, Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, Goldman Sachs) participate where a forward-flow or balance-sheet relationship is part of the conversation. Flow has direct relationships across this group and into the warehouse lenders behind it.
Flow has experience running VC fundraising processes for online lending companies across consumer instalment lenders, SMB lenders, point-of-sale finance, revenue-based finance and specialty credit platforms. Our extensive investor network spans early-stage seed funds, growth-stage investors, and strategic and corporate VC arms.
