VC fundraising for embedded finance companies

Embedded finance has been through one of the harder valuation resets in fintech. The 2021 narrative - every brand becoming a fintech - collided with sponsor bank consent orders, the Synapse failure and thinner programme economics than gross revenue suggested. Capital still flows but to a narrower set of operators with demonstrable net revenue per programme and a credible regulatory posture.

The investor base has narrowed to fintech specialists who actually understand sponsor-bank economics - Ribbit, QED, Bain Capital Ventures, Andreessen - alongside infrastructure-focused growth funds and the corporate VCs of the card networks and large banks (Mastercard Foundry, Visa Ventures, American Express Ventures, JPM Strategic Investments, Citi Ventures). Generalists who priced rounds in 2021 have largely stepped back. Flow has direct relationships across this group.

Flow has experience running VC fundraising processes for embedded finance companies across BaaS platforms, card issuing and programme management, payments infrastructure, embedded lending and embedded insurance. Our extensive investor network spans early-stage seed funds, growth-stage investors, and strategic and corporate VC arms.
