M&A advisory for social networks companies

Social network M&A is uneven. The large horizontal platforms are essentially closed to new entrants, so activity concentrates on vertical communities, interest-based networks and creator platforms. Buyers have learned to discount engagement metrics that do not translate to monetisation, and the assets that trade are the ones with clear advertising, subscription or transactional revenue layered on the social graph.

Strategic buyers are concentrated. Meta, Reddit, Pinterest, Snap, X and the larger media and gaming groups with social adjacencies run selective corp dev programmes - usually against specific community or format gaps rather than broad consolidation. Consumer app holdcos and PE platforms with consumer-asset experience - including the sponsors behind community and creator-economy portfolios - back the mid-market sponsor activity. Flow has direct access across the strategic corp dev teams and the active PE platforms.

Flow team has relevant sector experience and has worked with social network companies across interest and community platforms, creator-led networks, professional and B2B networks, anonymous and discussion platforms and adjacent social media businesses.
